Cream Puff Haus
Known as Princes Krofna in Bosnia, these Cream Puffs are choux pastries filled with chilled decadent custard and real whipped cream. With a dusting of powdered sugar, it is rich but not overly sweet. Made locally by hand from scratch.
As a young child, Chef Selma fled the war in Bosnia and found refuge in Germany, where she developed a passion for the rich flavors of traditional Christmas Markets. Now living in Seattle, Selma and her husband, Eric, run Baked in Bosnia, bringing a taste of Europe to the Pacific Northwest.
At the Seattle Christmas Market, you can also visit their other huts, Spatzle Haus and Goulash Haus.
Das Bratwurst Haus
Traditional German Bratwurst stands out for its finely ground meat, seasoned with subtle spices. Encased in natural casings, it boasts a tender, juicy texture with a slightly crispy exterior when grilled or pan-fried. Each region in Germany has its own variation, contributing to the sausage’s rich cultural heritage and making it a beloved staple at the Seattle Christmas Market and other festivals around the world.
This year, Altengartz German Sausages, run by father and son team, George and Jameson Wittkopp, will bring their world-famous bratwurst exclusively at the Seattle Christmas Market. While they focus on “one perfect recipe” with their signature German Bratwurst and Vegan brat; they will also feature an all-beef bratwurst and currywurst for guests to enjoy. Stop by their hut to experience a taste of tradition; or take home a package of sausages to enjoy at home! Prost!
