Seattle Christmas Market Returns Nov. 20 and Sticks Around to Ring In the New Year

New this season: Wednesday workshops, twice-weekly Date Nights, an Après All Day event, and one extra night to ring in 2027

SEATTLE, OCTOBER 2026: The Seattle Christmas Market returns for its fourth year November 20 through December 26, 2026, bringing the sights, flavors, and traditions of a European holiday market to Seattle Center. This year the celebration runs past Christmas for the first time, then reopens for one night only on New Year’s Eve to send guests into 2027 under twinkling lights.

“We wanted this season to feel like there’s always a reason to come back. Whether it’s a Tuesday date night, a Saturday with the kids, or counting down to midnight on New Year’s Eve, there’s a new way to experience the Market every time you visit,” said Malte Kluetz, Founder of the Seattle Christmas Market.

What’s New in 2026

  • More Snow Moments: Snow showers fall on a regular schedule every day, from opening to close, turning the Market into a winter wonderland.
  • Wednesday Market Workshops: Hands-on evening workshops from 6 to 8 p.m., including a Merry & Bright Succulent Bar (Nov. 25), Artisanal Winter Honey Infusions & Tasting (Dec. 2), Let It Snow snow globe making (Dec. 9 and 22), a Winter Wonderland Candle workshop (Dec. 16), and a Cozy Critters Crochet Corner (Dec. 21).
  • Date Night, Twice a Week: Every Tuesday is Date Night, and Thursdays pair Date Night with trivia from 6 to 8 p.m. Look for mistletoe and “Kiss Here” signs hanging around the Market on select evenings.
  • Santa, Mrs. Claus, Holly & Jolly: Santa photos run daily at Santa’s Workshop. Mrs. Claus joins on select dates, and the Market’s mascots Holly & Jolly roam for meet-and-greets.
  • Letters to Santa & Hans the SCM Elf Scavenger Hunt: Kids can drop off their wish lists in person, then track down Hans the elf on a Market-wide scavenger hunt.
  • Puzzle Competitions (Nov. 30 and Dec. 14): Teams race the clock in the Alpen Haus starting at 6 p.m.
  • DJ Saturdays & Silent Disco: DJs spin in the Alpen Haus from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturdays, and a Silent Night Disco (ticketed event) takes over on Friday, Dec. 18.
  • Après All Day (Dec. 26): For the first time, the Market stays open after Christmas, with trivia, karaoke, live music, and a New Year’s Wishing Forest where guests can share their hopes for 2027.

Ring In 2027 at the Market

For the first time, the Seattle Christmas Market will reopen on New Year’s Eve. On Thursday, December 31, the carousel, Christmas Pyramid, food and drink huts, and a beer garden in front of the Alpen Haus open to the public at 2 p.m. At 8 p.m., the beer garden becomes a ticketed late-night party, with a live DJ spinning in the Alpen Haus until 1 a.m., plus the New Year’s Wish Wall and a countdown to midnight. The carousel and Christmas Pyramid stay open to all guests through the evening. Tickets for the New Year’s Eve party are sold separately and will be available in November.

Signature Events Throughout the Season

  • Yappy Hour (Mondays, Nov. 23 and Dec. 7, 4 to 9 p.m.): Pups get treats at the gate, photos with Santa from 4 to 8 p.m., and a shot at glory in the 6:30 p.m. doggy fashion show and Most Festive Pup contest.
  • Black Friday Karaoke (Nov. 27): Sing off the turkey in the Alpen Haus from 6 to 8 p.m. Karaoke returns Dec. 11 and during the Après All Day event.
  • Small Business Saturday (Nov. 28): Every vendor at the Market is a small business. To celebrate, the first 200 guests who purchase tickets online receive free admission.
  • German Heritage Night (Nov. 29): An evening honoring the Market’s roots, with a cultural performance and live Bavarian music from the Bavarian Beer Garden Band and Manuela Horn.
  • Breakfast with Santa (Dec. 5, 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.): A morning in the Alpen Haus with Santa, story time with Mrs. Claus, face painting, and holiday crafts. Tickets available online.
  • Ugly Christmas Sweater Weekend (Dec. 12 to 13): Break out your loudest knit. The Merry Mischief Makers hand out prizes for the best sweaters every two hours.
  • Candlelight at the Market (Christmas Eve): Stories and carols with Mrs. Claus at noon, followed by Victorian carolers in the Alpen Haus from 4 to 6 p.m.

New Flavors Worth the Trip

The Market’s food lineup gets bolder this year, with dishes cooked and carved right in front of guests:

  • Bone marrow and toast, finished with a fire torch
  • Peking duck rolls, carved on-site and wrapped in savory crepes made to order
  • Fusion taquitos stuffed with Swedish meatballs and Belgian mashed potatoes
  • Belgian fries topped with stuffed Kartoffel Puffers

They join returning favorites like Feuerzangenbowle, glühwein, and the famous cheese wheel. Holiday cheer doesn’t have to cost a lot. Plus, every food and drink vendor at the Market offers at least one item for $10 or less.

Shopping and Entertainment

80 artisan vendors and food stalls fill the Market this season, including new merchants selling vintage-inspired watches and Christmas Closet, a shop stocked with holiday décor and seasonal finds.

Returning favorite Ryan “Henry” Ward, known as Seattle’s most prolific public artist, returns Nov. 23 to paint and sell original artwork every Friday, Saturday, and Tuesday from 12-6 p.m. Guests will recognize his playful Pacific Northwest characters from murals around the region.

Live music fills the Pyramid Stage and the Alpen Haus all season, with performers including The Jewel Tones, Luis Cano Mariachi, The Choppers Brass, Bonnie Birch Bavarian Trio, Life in Pink Vintage Holiday Jazz, the Bavarian Beer Garden Band, Manuela Horn, and roving carolers.
